Most robusta never makes it into speciality coffee – this lot is the exception, and one of the few speciality grade robusta beans available. Growing at an altitude of 1,200 masl and using practices normally reserved for high grade coffee keeps the beans’ natural intensity and roughly twice the caffeine of typical arabica, without the harsh, rubbery notes typically associated with robusta.

This coffee comes from smallerholder farmers who rely on coffee as their main source of income. We buy direct and pay a premium, part of which funds school meals for children in these communities.
